"Cooperative" means you and your child share his or her first school experience together. You will be directly involved with your child’s early education and a part of their interaction with others and meet their friends. Parents or other caregivers participate in the classroom, assisting the teacher on a regular basis. It also means you have a voice in the school; at United Community Preschool, parents and teachers make up the Board of Directors.
For those parents who cannot be in the classrooms many choose to have a trusted caregiver or family member to be the participating adult for their child. In addition, we offer a list of substitutes (for a nominal fee) to participate on your behalf when you cannot be present. The substitutes are current and former parents who are part of our community
The experienced and well trained and certified teachers at UCP are dedicated to make your child's experience one to remember. They are devoted to complete child care and will prepare the children for their first years in Elementary School with their love for teaching and learning.

It is the mission of United Community Preschool to provide a warm and caring environment that nurtures each child socially, physically, and cognitively, through the combined efforts of teachers and parents
There is a direct effect on the overall emotional, social and physical development of young children and the adult they will grow to be. Investment in a child’s development is important to maximize their future well-being.
"It is our intention to educate the child by providing a variety of interesting, child-like experiences; through learning to get along with others, to share, and to develop a sense of independence. Our paramount goal is to provide the most favorable environment possible for the growth and development of young children" from the United Community Preschool statement of philosophy, 1967.
Our school is comprised for several large classrooms full of stimulating toys, games, books and activities to engage your child. Each classroom is equipped with sensory tables for hands on sand and water exploration, pretend kitchens, tool benches and dress up clothing for imaginative play. In addition each classroom has a devoted learning center for focused curriculum activities.
We also have a large fenced in outdoor playground with swings, a soft turf play structure and many tricycles, bicycles and push cars for gross motor development. During our colder months the children play in our gymnasium on tricycles, monkey bars and push cars.
