Mrs. Burns has worked in early childhood education for the past twenty years. She has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Stony Brook and a Masters in Elementary Education from Hofstra. She loves teaching children at the age of 3 because they have such wonder and excitement and a yearning to ask, WHY? "I love to see the spark in their eyes when something finally makes sense or the satisfaction when they complete a task."
Ms. Katherine graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology. She then became a certified yoga instructor traveling abroad completing 200 hours of teacher training.
She has been sharing her passion for teaching yoga to adults & children for the past 11 years while raising her two sons.
She started working as a Teacher’s Assistant at UCP in October of 2020 while her youngest son was in Pre-K. Child development within each classroom setting has brought her so much joy and she is looking forward to many more great years. In addition, she also teaches the preschool yoga program & will be starting a Mommy & Me Yoga this year!
Mrs. Dini has over 20 years of experience teaching young children. She has been with UCP for 15 years and before that taught pre-school for 8 years. Mrs. Dini has a degree from SUNY Farmingdale in Early Childhood Education. She continued her studies and graduated from C.W. Post College with a degree in Elementary Education. Later, she received her Master's degree in education from Adelphi. Her three children attended UCP many years ago and she enjoyed the friendly and caring environment. Knowing that it was a wonderful place for children to grown she returned to teach. She feels such joy coming to school everyday; it is so rewarding to see the world through the eyes of a preschooler.
Ms. Lisa is mom to five children, all of whom attend or have attended UCP. Prior to having children, Lisa taught elementary school grades K, 1, 3 and 4. She has a bachelors degree from Hofstra University in Elementary Education. In addition she has master degrees in reading and math, science, technology from Hofstra University, as well. She loves teaching our youngest UCP students through literature, arts and crafts, music and playtime!
Mrs. Powers, who assists in the all of our classes and also teaches the cooking enrichment class. She graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a degree in Elementary Education. Then she taught both Kindergarden and Preschool before having her own children. All three of her children attended United Church Preschool before she came to teacher here! She looks forward to sharing her delicious recipes in the cooking class!
