A wonderful opportunity for your 2-year-old to experience the fun of learning here at UCP! This preschool class is a twice weekly drop-off program that provides hands-on, interactive learning in a safe and nurturing environment and includes free play, arts and crafts, story time, songs, snack, and more.

Pre-Kindergarden is where children joyfully begin their active search for the tools and skills they will use for the rest of their lives.  Teachers nurture and guide each child's emerging capabilities by creating a supportive and fun-filled classroom learning environment.  Creative play and "learning by doing"helps each child develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.    Class follows the same basic curriculum as the four-year class, however, the five-day program affords extra time in the classroom. 

A safe and nurturing environment is provided to promote personal growth, responsibility and independence. Using play and music new skills are introduced and opportunities are presented to foster independence and exploration. We encourage the children to verbally express their needs and feelings and give them the opportunity to explore, discover, ask questions and take initiative through everyday activities. Monthly themes, the alphabet, and books are introduced throughout the year. Learning is fun as we bake, sing, move to music, and laugh and play on pajama day and beach day.

Four one-week camp sessions are offered in the summer to extend our school year. Our experienced, certified teachers have developed a wonderful summer camp, which will include developmentally appropriate activity centers with a focus on learning, movement and fun. Each week follows a different theme with hands-on learning activities.

In the Pre-K 3-4 day program class, you will see your child grow as an individual as well as be part of a group. The children will have opportunities to play with blocks, paint at the easel, work on a puzzle, explore with play-doh, engage in dramatic play, utilize manipulative toys or work on an arts and crafts project. During circle time, we sing songs, play instruments, play and move to music, read a books, discuss the date, observe the weather and say the Pledge of Allegiance. During Show and Tell, the children will learn the letter of the week and the sounds associated with letters. We explore sound recognition and enhance vocabulary with each letter. In math, one to one correspondence is taught though math games and activities.

Our Baby & Me Class and Toddler & Me Class is a weekly class offered in Fall and Spring sessions during the late mornings for our youngest students and their caregivers. It is 1 1/2 hours long, which provides hands on interactive time including free play, art projects, story time, songs and snacks. This class presents a wonderful opportunity to transition to preschool as it helps children learn socialization with the comfort of a familiar face.
